Laminate flooring installationMostly in order to maintain warranty and to properly install laminate floor, we recommend you to use and follow manufacturer's instructions of the laminate floor you are installing. Prior to the installation it is recommendable to leave the laminate for 24-72 hours in the room where you will install it in order for it to adapt and to partially avoid problems of laminate expanding or contracting while adapting to its environment immediately after installation. In most cases laminates are installed as floating floors, which means it is not attached or fastened to the surface, but all its elements are joined together instead. Prevailing on the market today are the laminate click systems which enable quite simple installation with no need for any expert knowledge and installation without adhesive. Most of the laminates with this system can also be reinstalled although there are laminates with identical edge profile to those with the click system which can not be easily reinstalled. However, most of today's click systems can be carefully reinstalled without damaging them. Although the click system is becoming more and more popular, one must not forget the laminates with the ordinary slot which must be glued when being installed. Some retailers will recommend gluing even those laminates with the click system for better protection from water and dust penetration to the laminate composition. With glued laminates it is less likely that there will be any fringes in the joints during laminate expanding or contracting because of climatic changes in the room. Adhesive is not applied only on some areas on the panels but along the sides and points of each panel. When assembling two panels, adhesive surplus will emerge and has to be wiped with a moist cloth or you must wait for it to dry and then scrape it with plastic or wooden scoop. When installing the laminate, it is best to start the first line with a whole panel and the second with a half, a piece which is cut off at the end of the line is installed at the beginning of the new line so the waste would be minimal, and it is not recommendable to install a piece smaller than 25 cm. First lines of the laminate floor must be very precisely installed because correct and precise installation of the rest of the floor depends on them. It is recommendable to use control tape for the laminates to be mutually compact and condensely joined and to be in a straight line.
